Departing Rochester, NY Amtrak Station, Friday morning October
20, 2006 at 5:52AM on Amtrak train #280 the Mohawk . Train
#280 has a food service car serving sandwiches, pizza beverages,
danishes and muffins. Our group will change trains in New
York's Penn Station to Train #85 arriving in Baltimore at
5:42PM. This train will also have a food service car. Upon
arrival in Baltimore the group will transfer by transfer
bus to the Days Inn Inner Harbor an AAA 3 Diamond Property
for 3 nights. A buffet Breakfast is included each morning
at the hotel.
Saturday we will depart the hotel at 9:00AM for our 3-hour
city tour including a local tour guide. We will arrive back
at the hotel at approximately Noon. Baltimore and the inner
harbor area have many things to do. We have purposely not
scheduled tours on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The Inner
Harbor is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Water Taxi's operate
from 10AM until 8PM Sunday and to midnight on Saturday's.
You can stop and visit many museums, the National Aquarium,
Science Center, USS Constellation Museum, Harbor Place for
shopping and Little Italy to mention a few. Camden Yards
the Orioles' baseball park and tour are 5 minutes from our
hotel and the
famous B&O railroad museum is a 10 to 12 minute walk
from the hotel. Our hotel is located in downtown Baltimore
where most everything is within walking distance including
many restaurants.
Monday morning after breakfast, we will depart the hotel
at 8:00AM for our 9:17AM departure of Amtrak train #84 arriving
in NYC at 11:45AM. We will transfer in New York City to train
#285 departing at 1:45PM arriving in Rochester's Amtrak Station
at 8:30PM. Our group will be in a reserved section of an
Amtrak coach on all trains. These trains will also have a
food service cafe.
